Business floors with real demands
A commercial floor has to survive more than foot traffic. A restaurant kitchen deals with boiling water, grease and harsh cleaners. A medical office needs a seamless surface that can be disinfected daily. A storage building takes hand trucks and pallet jacks. A service bay sees oil, coolant and dropped parts. We start every commercial project by learning what the floor actually faces, then build the system around it.
Restaurants and food businesses
The historic district and the shopping centers along the main corridors are full of restaurants, bakeries and cafes. Kitchens in older buildings often have quarry tile with failing grout, or bare concrete that has soaked up years of grease. Urethane cement is usually our first choice for these spaces. It handles hot washdowns, freezer spills and food acids without cracking or delaminating. We build integral cove bases up the walls so there is no seam for water to get behind, and slope the floor toward drains where needed.
Medical, dental and professional offices
Clinics and offices value floors that are seamless, easy to disinfect and pleasant to look at. Decorative flake and solid color epoxy systems with urethane topcoats meet those needs. Because many offices operate weekdays, we often install over a weekend.
Retail in historic buildings
Old stone and brick buildings in the valley have slabs that have been patched, leveled and covered many times. Some have taken on floodwater. We remove old coverings, grind, repair and choose systems that tolerate moisture. For shops wanting a distinctive look, metallic or polished concrete are popular.
Storage, flex space and service bays
Self-storage facilities, contractor shops and auto service bays need wear and chemical resistance more than looks. High-solids epoxy with urethane topcoats, quartz broadcast for traction and line striping for organization are common choices.
Working around operations
Downtime costs money. We work nights, weekends and holidays when needed, phase large floors so parts of the business keep running, and use fast-cure products that return areas to service in hours. We coordinate dust control, ventilation and access with managers and landlords.
Moisture in commercial slabs
Large slabs on grade, especially in buildings near the river or on hillside sites, can carry significant moisture. We test across the floor and specify moisture-tolerant primers when needed. Skipping this step is one of the most expensive mistakes in commercial flooring.
Safety and compliance
We can add slip-resistant aggregates in wet areas, mark walkways and hazard zones and provide product data and safety data sheets for your records and inspections.
Flood recovery
After water intrusion, coated floors are easier to clean and sanitize than tile, carpet or bare concrete. If a business has had water damage, we can evaluate whether existing slabs need drying, repair or moisture mitigation before a new system goes down.
Maintenance
Regular cleaning with compatible chemicals and periodic topcoat renewal keep commercial floors performing. We can recommend cleaning products and schedule recoats before wear reaches the base layers.
Questions
Can you work while we are open? Often, with phasing and fast-cure products.
How long will a kitchen floor last? Urethane cement systems commonly last many years with care.
Do you provide documentation? Yes: scopes, product data and warranty terms.
Landlords and property managers
Owners of retail centers, office parks and mixed-use buildings often need floors refreshed between tenants. We work with property managers on turnover schedules, provide clear scopes for approval and coordinate access, after-hours work and building rules so new tenants can move in on time.
Choosing between systems
We usually present two or three options for a commercial floor with pros, cons, downtime and cost side by side. A clinic might compare decorative flake epoxy with a polished slab. A kitchen might compare urethane cement with quartz epoxy. Seeing the trade-offs together makes the decision faster for owners and managers who have to justify the expense.
